Which tool should I use?

For a logo, line drawing, silhouette or text, the image to SVG converter gives one clean cut colour. For clip art, stickers or flat illustrations with several colours, the layered SVG maker splits the art into one cut layer per colour. To turn a photo into a stencil or portrait, use photo to SVG; it redraws the photo first, because a photo traced directly turns into thousands of specks. If you only have an idea, the AI SVG generator draws it for you, and ideas suggests themes from a single word.

Why a vector file matters for cutting

A cutting machine follows paths, not pixels. A JPG or PNG only says which colour each pixel is, so Design Space has to guess where the edges are, and fine details come out jagged or get lost. An SVG describes every shape as a smooth path, so the blade follows exactly the outline you see, at any size, from a small decal to a full shirt.

Questions

Is StudioSVG Create free?

Yes. You can preview without an account, and a free account includes full downloads every day. After that, conversions and AI designs use credits; monthly plans include unlimited one-colour conversions.

Which machines are supported?

Any machine that opens SVG or DXF: Cricut Maker, Explore and Joy, Silhouette Cameo and Portrait, Brother ScanNCut, Glowforge and other laser cutters, and vinyl plotters.

Can I sell what I make?

Yes. Designs you create from your own images or from AI prompts are yours to use on products you sell. Don't upload artwork you don't have the rights to.

What file formats do I get?

Every download is a ZIP with an SVG, a DXF, an EPS and a 3000 px transparent PNG.
