One colour
Image to SVG converter
Upload a logo, drawing or silhouette, adjust the threshold until the preview looks right, then convert. You get SVG, DXF, EPS and PNG in one ZIP.
How to convert an image to SVG
- 1Upload a high-contrast JPG, PNG or WebP: a logo, line drawing, silhouette or lettering.
- 2Move the threshold until the preview shows exactly the shapes you want to cut. Turn on Invert for light art on a dark background.
- 3Open Advanced to smooth corners or remove small specks that would be impossible to weed.
- 4Convert and download the ZIP with SVG, DXF, EPS and PNG.
- 5Open the SVG in Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, Inkscape or your laser software.
Which images convert best
The converter keeps one colour, so it works best on art that is already two-tone: black logos, hand lettering, silhouettes, stamps, line drawings and scanned sketches. Use the largest version of the image you have; small or blurry images give wobbly edges. Screenshots and photos of a screen usually need a higher threshold to drop the background noise.
Getting a clean cut
Look at the preview the way your blade will: every black area becomes a piece of vinyl. Thin hairlines below about 1 mm tend to tear when you weed, so raise the threshold to thicken them. Tiny dots are hard to weed and easy to lose; the Remove specks slider deletes them before tracing. Smooth corners rounds the jaggies that come from pixel edges without changing the overall shape.
Colour artwork?
For artwork with several colours, use the layered SVG maker: it gives one cut layer per colour. For a photo of a person or pet, photo to SVG redraws it as a stencil first.
Questions
Is the image to SVG converter free?
Yes. Preview without an account; a free account includes full downloads every day. After that each conversion costs 1 credit, or subscribe for unlimited one-colour conversions.
Can I convert a JPG to SVG?
Yes. JPG, PNG and WebP all work. JPG compression adds noise around edges, so use Remove specks if you see stray dots in the preview.
Will it work in Cricut Design Space?
Yes. In Design Space choose Upload, then Upload Image, and pick the SVG from the ZIP. It arrives as a single cut layer you can resize freely.
Can I keep the colours?
This tool makes one-colour cut files. For colour layers use the layered SVG maker.
Who can see my images?
Only you. Uploads and results are stored privately and never shown in a public gallery.
What file formats do I get?
Every download is a ZIP with an SVG, a DXF, an EPS and a 3000 px transparent PNG.
