One colour
PNG to SVG for Cricut
Upload a logo, drawing or silhouette, adjust the threshold until the preview looks right, then convert. You get SVG, DXF, EPS and PNG in one ZIP.
How to turn a PNG into a Cricut SVG
- 1Upload your PNG. Transparent PNGs work well: the transparent area becomes the background.
- 2Adjust the threshold until the preview shows the shapes you want to cut.
- 3Convert and download the ZIP.
- 4In Cricut Design Space choose Upload → Upload Image and pick the SVG. It imports as a cut image, no background removal needed.
- 5Resize, set your material and cut.
Why not upload the PNG straight to Design Space?
Design Space can trace a PNG, but it treats it as a print-then-cut or asks you to erase the background by hand, and the edges follow the pixels. Converting to SVG first gives smooth vector paths, so the cut line is clean at any size and you can weld, slice and attach shapes like any other Cricut design.
Tips for Cricut vinyl and iron-on
Keep lines at least 1 mm thick at the size you'll cut, especially for iron-on (HTV), where thin details lift in the wash. Remember to mirror the design in Design Space before cutting iron-on. For multi-colour shirt designs, split the art with the layered SVG maker so each colour is its own layer.
